THERE WILL NOT BE A FLEA MARKET/CRAFT FAIR HELD THIS SEPTEMBER. If there is one in May, 2023, information will be sent out..
Dr. Gail, Jake and Joshua Glushko visited our Church today. Josh was one of the altar servers and Jake and his mom sang with the choir. Dr. Gail was baptized in our Church and is a long distance member of St. Nicholas. She is a retired Colonel in the Army and a Doctor of Internal Medicine. They live in Beaver Creek, OH and are here visiting with her friend Stephanie. Come back soon!!!!
Once again we were blessed to have our Archbishop here for his presence and his blessings July 9th and 10th. 55 people were in church to welcome and pray with our bishop and to participate in the Divine Liturgy. At the end of the liturgy we blessed 4 Icons: Saint Theodora of Romania, Saint Nina of Georgia, Saint Justin martyr and Saint Tatiana of Rome. Grammotas were presented to Catherine Bradwell, Barbara Gerzonich and the choir of St. Nicholas church for their outstanding service.
Sunday Divine Liturgy will once again be held at 9am at our Cemetery on Rt. 9 next to Guptills, weather permitting moving forward. Parishioners, please watch for emails, should there be a change in schedule for a particular Sunday, thereby moving it back to our Church.. Everyone is welcome!!!
Welcome to St Nicholas Orthodox Church! We hope you will enjoy your visit. We are a parish of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA), serving Christ in the Cohoes and Greater Albany Capital Region. Our liturgical services are primarily in English with small sections in Church Slavonic, Romanian, Greek or Arabic depending on the needs of the congregation at that time.
Our parish has an average of 35 people for a Sunday Liturgy with an outreach of over 100 who come to our church at some point in the church year. Our church is mainly composed of second and third generation people with origins from Lemkovyna (a region now part of Ukraine, Poland and Slovakia).
Recently, our church has become the spiritual home of a smattering of immigrants from Romania, Macedonia, Georgia, Moldova, Belarus, Russia and our own community here in America. Our mission is to expand our Christian family by embracing all people who want to share a life in Christ and to be the home for people of all backgrounds.
